Few Baltimore musicians can match the scope of Andy Bopp's nearly four decades in the music business. And his new album, "Wherewithal," featuring the singles "Shadow" and "Lonely Driver" is undoubtedly his best music yet.

On Thursday Oct. 4, WTMD is thrilled to welcome Andy and his band of veteran Baltimore musicians for the official album release of "Wherewithal."

Andy has been the frontman for popular power pop bands Love Nut and Myracle Brah, and after the release of Love Nut's indie pop debut "Bastards of Melody" in 1996, the band signed with Interscope Records. Love Nut still has a following in the Midwest, where they sold out clubs in the 1990s.

In the late '90s, Andy returned to his roots in the smaller, less corporate music world with the birth of The Strung Out String Band, and continued to put out albums with Myracle Brah, Alto Verde, Bleaker Street Cowboys and The Modern Ruins.

Over the years, Andy has released dozens of albums under his various projects, and continues to tour in major and not-so-major cities around the world.

The Shroom Pickers, an acoustic band fronted by Miles Gannett of Fractal Cat, will open the show. The trio also features Fractal Cat's Sean Finn on fiddle and French horn, and Ahren Buchheister on pedal steel and dobro. The Pickers' inspirations include Townes Van Zandt, the Holy Modal Rounders, and the Incredible String Band.
