Dance Medicine Philly's Ecstatic Dance is Sunday January 19th from 6pm-10pm

Come warm up a mid winter's Sunday night with Ecstatic dance! Dance Medicine Philly comes together again at the Ethcial Society for this journey through our four hour event, combining a yoga warm up, 105 minutes of ecstatic dancing, and a south bath. We're excited to welcome DJ Citron to join us for this upcoming dance. Coming all the way from North Carolina with his comrade and sound bath composer, Ion Sound, We're in for an epic dance journey with this upcoming event. We're also thrilled to have Sarah Nicole Eckerd lead us with the yoga warm up. Sarah is a regular attendee of dance medicine philly events and can often be found upside down during the dance.

Originally a native of Jerusalem Israel, Citron has become regionally known for cooking up a scrumptious blend of multicultural sounds served on a bed of booty shaking bass.

Holding a number of weekly residencies since 2000, Citron’s style has evolved into an edgy combination of Psychedelic Bass, Grime, UK Funky, Fidget, Bassline Garage, UK Funky Garage & Multi-cultural Tech House with hints of Hip Hop and Reggae. A little something for all you bass heads out there!

While Citron is mostly known for high energy sets, he occasionally shares the more melodic and spiritual. This will be Citron's first official ecstatic dance set. He and Ion Sound first met when Ion randomly played with Citron during a Temple Step set at the Five Elements Festival. Their chemistry has led to a couple years of exploring music together, with the goal of combining Ion's spiritual rhythms, with Citron's high energy dance. They have tremendous gratitude for the Philly Ecstatic Dance community for providing Citron & Ion a platform to share both energy movements in a single performance.

Our sound bath: Ion Sound is a producer, handpan player, and multi-instrumental soundhealer whos sound is a hypnotic blend of ancient healing elements and modern sound technology. ion Sound seamlessly weaves organic instrumentation with modern hip-hop and electronic production. ion Sound’s debut album "Neo Shamanic" is available on all platforms.
