Contemporary Arts Inc. presents The Lafayette Gilchrist Ensemble.

Lafayette Gilchrist, a 2018 recipient of the Baker Artist Award, takes command of the piano.  He is widely regarded as one of the area's most prolific and original composers.He tours nationally and internationally and has performed with many prominent artists including Carl Grubbs, Cassandra Wilson, David Murray, Macy Gray, and many more.  His compositions, Assume the Position and Coded Sources, are a part of the original score from David Simon's The Wire and Treme.
