PRP was created to encourage Hopkins County citizens to embrace local veterans and first responders in our community in honor of SGT William Patrick Rudd. Rudd, a native of Hopkins County and member of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Army Ranger Regiment, was killed in action in 2008 while on combat patrol in Iraq. Patrick was a true hero, and to continue his outstanding legacy, the Patrick Rudd Project was formed to honor our every day heroes right here at home. The Project's leadership team created the Every Day Heroes mini-grants as a means to help local first responders bridge the budget gap for training and equipment purposes. We felt this was a small, yet impactful way to give back to those in our local community who give so tirelessly of themselves. PRP was honored to award over $100,000 in mini grants to 16 most-deserving local agencies. John 15:13 states, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends". This verse is the driving force behind the Patrick Rudd Project, and it is our hope that we will forever honor this local hero by giving back to our local first responders and assist them in their efforts to protect and serve Hopkins County.
